I'm your average girl who got the love for photography with the many disposable cameras as a kid, and then their hot pink digital camera, and college B&W film course. But when I really think back to when it started... I would say it started in the wildflowers on the side of the road.
I got the love of documenting from my parents - I vividly remember as a child, my dad would pull the car over on the 'middle of no where highway' and pile us kids out to snap a photo of us in a bed of wildflowers that eventually made its way to being framed and cherished on our walls for years to come. There was always a camera out to document our times traveling in our camper, along the river while my dad fly-fished, or even in the backyard while my mom was tending to the garden.
I'm forever grateful for these memories that were made, and the beautiful photos that we are lucky enough to now look back on and reminiscence. I want everybody to be able to have those nostalgic memories.
So, my advice to you... is get out into the wildflowers.
As an artist your work is always evolving… it’s fair to say that it is an endless journey. After photographing my niece as a newborn 8 years ago, I decided to put all my education into newborn and family photography. I’ve attended workshops, have had mentors, and endless hours of youtube education while blending it all together into what I now love to document.
I’ve gone from photographing very ‘posed’ newborns in my in-home attic studio, to owning a photography studio in PA and falling in love with the community aspect, to now enjoying the beauty and challenge of photographing newborns in client’s homes.
With this rebrand, I wanted to dive deep into how I want my work to speak. I found myself re-visiting our old family albums that always seem to surface during the holidays and random times throughout the years. I've found inspiration in these old photos and developed a love in how a single photo can bring you right back to that same spot as a kid. It is that nostalgic feeling that I want to capture for families.
Today I would say my work is rooted in natural family led posing with your newborn in the comfort of your home, and taking advantage of the beautiful Florida shorelines with fun-loving families who want to document their love.

-Show up and be present. Life is busy, especially with kids, but this is your chance to slowww down, put the phone and devices away, and just be. My goal is to capture your family just as you are - so lean into the silliness, laugh at the cheesy jokes, let your kids get a little wild (it actually makes for great photos). I am also good at 'reading the room', if your kiddo is in the mood to just cuddle for half the time, then never force anything and let them cuddle on you and we can capture some really sweet, more intimate moments. I am there every step of the way, guiding you with games or jokes if needed, but I also want to give you space and let you interact with your kiddos while I remain a fly on the wall.
I want this to be an experience for you - so we will chat about what your family loves to do and we can incorporate that into the session. If you need a little help with this process, I've got plenty of ideas :)

“Keri is so gentle with newborns and makes sure they are extra cozy in every pose. I don’t love getting my picture taken but Keri helped us all feel very comfortable and we had so many real smiles”

“Keri is incredibly talented! I absolutely love and cherish our fresh 48 photos at the hospital and remembering how tiny our son was and how much happiness he brought us. Keri is patient, kind and our sessions felt natural. I look forward to having her photograph other special moments of our lives.”

“Highly recommend Keri Durkin Photography! She was so much fun to work with. I appreciated how patient & calm she was with my 1 year old son during our photoshoot. He didn’t make it easy by moving around & getting fussy but Keri captured our family so beautifully, truly shows how talented she is!.”
